Sharon’s story

Sharon is a paediatric community nurse who works in a range of settings including patients homes, schools and out patient clinics. She found that a large amount of children on her caseload have some form of speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). Sharon felt like she could do her job more effectively is she could better understand the range of difficulties her patients were experiencing and in turn could change her communication style to better support their needs. She came across one of SLT for Kids training and workshops for professionals, after speaking to one of the speech and language therapists to see if the training was appropriate to what she was looking for, sharon booked on to the training session. Sharon has since booked herself on to a range of the training sessions provided by SLT for Kids.

The training sessions provided by SLT for Kids has helped informed my practice when working with children with SLCN, thank you for all your help and support. Your advice has really helped me develop a better rapport with my patients they are less frustrated and apprehensive.
